About Ruth Mills, founder of Life Story
Life Story was founded by Ruth Mills, an editor and ghost
writer with more than 25 years' publishing experience. Ruth has worked for several prestigious publishers, including
Random House, John Wiley & Sons, and Prentice Hall. During that time, she edited
and published hundreds of interesting, informative, high-quality books that sold successfully and were reviewed well in The
New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and BusinessWeek.
In 2000, Ruth founded her own editing business, Ruth Mills Literary Services, LLC.
As a freelance editor and book doctor, Ruth has edited manuscripts on a wide range of topics, including biography & autobiography,
business, finance & personal investing, science, self-help & popular psychology, health, relationships, restaurant
& travel guides, romance fiction, espionage, and science fiction & fantasy. Ruth also started ghost-writing
books by working with Jenny Craig (founder of the weight-loss business) on her book about how she started
and grew her business; Ruth has ghosted many books since then.
After
working with several entrepreneurs on books about how they started and grew their businesses, Ruth realized there were many
people who were interested in telling the story of their lives. If you want help writing your life story, contact
